How to remove the hashID? Why is it needed? It was not there on older versions. I would appreciate if anyone could show me how to remove it

Why is it needed?
Its needed in the future versions with user management.... this identifies when a user is logged in using a unique string...

hashID is the Session ID. Don't think about it. There are some patches in the script hiding hashID for serahc engine bots or whatever you wish.
