Search Engine Submission/Link trader

Is there such a things as open source search engine submission and/or link promoting and trading software? It would be nice to have something that I could contribute to instead of paying $150 - $500 for under-performing services. Please tell me that it is available?!?!?!

Be careful with free searchengine submission. Google & Co don´t like that. If you have bad luck, you are on the black list

Really??!! I didn't know about black listing. I hope that kind of thing doesn't last too long. Thanks for the warning ragi.

Anyway, beside that point it doesn't seem that it would be hard to write software for this kind of thing. AND for the price these companys are charging there really should be an alternative. Hey, we can practice on junk domains first to test it out.
