The Fontizer - Graphical Text made easy

Post non-phpwcms related topics here - but I don't want to see "hey check this or that other cms". Post if you have a point or worthwhile comment, don't post just to increase you post count!

Release plan
Version 1.0
* DONE: Code conversion to provide functionality for different page encodings (UTF-8, ISO-8859-1, etc.)
* Parameters to define padding between the font and the image borders
* Developer and end user documentation

The inclusion of the Fontizer into phpwcms is a separate project.

Best regards, I appreciate your comments.

Hi, would Fontizer fix this: (EDIT: long headlines that need to be broken up to fit the design)

Note: in FF and Opera the content layer stays put, in IE it is pushed to the bottom. Anyway, the line needs to be broken.

Can Fontizer be integrated in phpwcms? With tags, just as GT mod works?
And yes, better documentation would be cool.

Yes, I suppose fontizer would fix this.

If you are an ambitious developer, you should be able to see how to use the fontizer by looking at the source code in index.php.

An inclusion into phpwcms should be possible, but I am not willing to develop a MOD, because - as far as I know - Oliver is having his own plans about the generation of graphical text.

very cool

looks fantastic...
Jerome, why dont u post this on the forum --...--

you dont have to create a MOD, however it would be great if we could collect everything there that pertains to phpWCMS ...

The Fontizer is not phpwcms related at all - the GT Mod that I have written is - but not this one.

Anyway, a new MOD could be made out of it, but I lack of financial resources to find the time to do it :? *giving a broad hint ;)*

Well, I have registered at your forums and written to brans in relation to the mod management project that I could perhaps rewrite the GT MOD basing on the fontizer. We will see, unfortunately, my free time is really small :/.

cool.... the dev forum is there to help everyone have a better overview of all the mods that have been added to phpWCMS

I think we all have limited time, myself and brans, started this as we were finding it difficult to find info on the main phpWCMS forum... I am sure that the dev forum has helped many people out there...

:D

I can implement it in phpwcms if there are wishes for it.

Oliver,

this would be a great improvement. Fontizer is far better than the GT-mod as far as I can see. Would love to see it as a part of phpwcms. Wondering though what Jérôme had in mind when he told us that you have your own plans with the generation of graphical text!?

Thanks in advance,

Bernhard

My own thoughts were to implement it at another place in backend and by using some additional values. Jérôme's work looks fantastic. And great that it is a class now. Have some good ideas for combining it with a code conversion class to solve the UTF-8 problematic.
