error - uploading image/create directory => login screen

Post by dpajevic »

Hello all,

(v. 1.2.1) In the file center, when adding a new directory folder or image (when I click "upload image"), I get sent to the login screen. After logging in, the directory or image is there and can be used like normal. :?

Here's my config.inc.php info,

Code: Select all

// database values
$phpwcms["db_host"] = "mysql01.websitehost.com";

// site values
$phpwcms["site"] = "http://www.mywebsitename.com/";

// paths
$phpwcms["DOC_ROOT"] = "E:/web/charlierorg/htdocs";
$phpwcms["root"] = "aaa_newsite"; //default: ""
more detail on how the path got resolved here: http://www.phpwcms.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5877

thanks for any help,

yes, resetting the permissions solved the file upload issue. Thank you. :D

But the creation or editing of file directories always takes me back to the log in screen. I tried resetting permissions for include/inc_act and inc_lib, but no change.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the fast response Pico! But no luck.

Reset folder \phpwcms_template and all sub folders. Also reset \content\tmp.

I can delete directories and turn on/off "active" and "public", but any submission from the "edit directory" or "create new directory" screens returns me to the login.

I was wrong, still broken. Creating new directories worked twice, and third try went back to login page. Now all as before: back to login upon directory action submissions. I tried setting the cache = 0, but same error. Also checked folder permissions for conf.inc.php.

???

mybe you have a Session Problem

try to clear the Cache and the Cookies of your Browser

also - I think that you have a local installation - look in phpinfo (Backend-Adminpage) how your register_globals is set in your ?Apache/Php

running PHP Version 4.3.4.
Here's the full phpInfo page: http://pajevic.com/dean/phpWCMS_sample/phpInfo.html

register_globals is Off for both Local and Master values.

cleared cache and cookies. still broken.

And then, one time, after logging in and clicking on Admin, then Articles and then to Files, and then editing a directory name, it worked and returned to the directory list. Editing the next directory name then bounced me out to the login page. Have not been able to recreate. Now always to login.

UPDATE: worked again one time, next edit went to login. Seems random.

:evil: :?:

realy no more ideas

but what makes me a little confuse

is this a real Value in your confic ?

Code: Select all

$phpwcms["DOC_ROOT"] = "E:/web/charlierorg/htdocs/";
if this is so

then maybe you try it more like this

Code: Select all

$phpwcms["DOC_ROOT"] = "http://pajevic.com/";
or
$phpwcms["DOC_ROOT"] = "http://www.pajevic.com/";

Sorry, to clarify, pajevic.com is my personal webspace, NOT where I am building the phpWCMS site. I just posted a copy of the phpInfo file so that you could see if anything was weird there. I really appreciate all your help. Maybe it has something to do with the IIS server the site is on?

I don't knowIIS very well - always use WAMP or XAMP what means Apache,mySQL and PHP on Windows
there it is always a good idea to make a virtual Server - think this is also posible with IIS - and 'talk' to this by a adress like 'www.mytestsite.xx'

also I remember that I read somewhere that there is sometimes a Problem wit Slashes and Backslashes on Windows IIS-Servers in the Pathes

Thanks for the server info, but virtual servers are beyond my scripting ability. The conf.inc.php paths look correct. Are there any other specific files I should check for the slash/backslash issue?

Anyone else have these log out issues with 1.2.1 on IIS servers?

Thanks for all your help. :)

hi

I'm also not firm with IIS :evil: and I think you don't understand German :roll: but when I'm wrong take a look to this Forum

http://www.winhelpline.info/forum/

but I#m shure that there is also a english Forum somewhere in the Web, where you can get assistance for IIS and setting up a Virtual Server

like this
http://www.sql-server-performance.com/i ... erver1.asp

think that a virtuell Server will solve your Problem
