In Firefox 1.0 is a problem with your design.

The rounded background image was under the menu and the next tablerow.

EDIT:

hmm looks great (reminds me a little bit of the wcms-backend ;) )

I would really place the search field on the right column, I don't like it at the bottom, it kinda "breaks through" the look of your bottom border.

another great feature would be if you had a dropdown menu.

I think it would really fit into your design! You could maybe just do the following:

onload => hide the submenu on the left (by setting the class to "hidden") AND enable a dropdown so the effect will be the following:

ppl who haven't enabled javascript won't see your dropdown but will be able to access the mai categories as they are at the moment. And if you hide your leftcolumn submenu by javascript, it won't be hidden if ppl haven't enabled javascript.

simple effect: ppl with JS will see a dropdown, the others will see your site as it is atm.
