sorry guy's but i think this idea is rubbish! cos now we all goto the forum support / installaton / feat. request. and we all have an overview of all new threads. but it would be really hard work to walk through 28!!!! (now we have 14)! forum categories. for helping.
I can understand both sides of this discussion. I admit, that posting in different languages in one forum must be confusing to people who do not understand german. But before we decide to split up the forum we should consider to ask every member of the community to post in english. Maybe we can use a sticky in every forum or point that out during the registration ?
I personally don't want to split up the forums but this depends on the willingness of every member.
Does phpwcms want to be a CMS used internationally or just in Gemany ?
I think it's best for everybody and also for new users to post all in English. I can't believe that their are that many Germans who doesn;t speak English, I believe everyone does.
I understand it's easier to write in your own language, but it's not good for an program like phpWCMS.

Sorry, tut mir leid, dass mir obiges Szenario nicht gefällt! Aber ich befürchte, ich bin da noch einer der Wenigen, die finden, wenn man eine Sprache verstehen will, soll man sie lernen. Da sind viele im englischsprachigen Raum oberverwöhnt, was man vom germanischen Raum nicht behaupten kann.
Obwohl ich mir einbilde, dass ich einigermasen Englisch kann, tu ich mir oft schwer - und da hilft auch kein Translator - manche Probleme in Englisch zu formulieren - selbst in Deutsch ist das manchmal nicht ganz so einfach. Deshalb finde ich auch den 'Mischbetrieb' hier gar nicht so schlecht und wenn da ein Posting in Englisch ist, dass mich interresiert, dann versuch ich das halt irgendwie zu übersetzten.

Oh my god! Why is it so hard for you guys to understand that by switching in this thread to German you are shutting out a lot of people from this discussion
I already gave the example of the redaxo cms which is completely in German (including the forum). Just go and have a look at that forum, count the amount of posts there and then do the same for this forum....
I am quite sure that Oliver wants to reach the broadest audience possible, otherwise he would have made http://www.phpwcms.de completely in German (why bother making the CMS available in so many languages if only German speaking people can get support here )
But as I do not like to speak for other people maybe it is time Oliver lets us know how he feels about the language issue on the forum

Indeed, even if I am able - to some extent - decipher German, it strikes me as largely ignorant to suddenly change the language from English to German - or post in German at all. Think of how global the world wide web is, and think of how you've effectively turned the phpWCMS community German just by using the language to hamper other discussions.
I'm prompted to register only to comment on this very thread; I agree with the person starting with this thread. In order to be a succesful - global - community, you must offer the information in English. All other languages come second.
I've personally studied German for several years and find it a thrilling (albeit crude in its pronounciation) language, but this is an issue of prominence, distribution and ease of communication. It's called English! Designating an area in the forums for the "Have-to-be-German-and-German-only" users is a smart choice.

As you see the subject is english and the post is in german and that is wast of the english speakers time.
- when you as a non-german speaker search you will get that hit eventhough you can´t use them.
- when using "View posts since last visit" you get listed posts where you think you can help - but when opening you can´t understand what they ask for. Wastes of time.
Conclusion: We need that german forum. Eg. install the subforum mod.

stop frold thats enough! bastaian has also post in the last days a few Q's in english! after i please him to do this!
so if he don't know how to write this question in english he can write in german.
Why we need a new german forum? Why not an english forum?!? Why can't some of you guys made a new community on "phpwcms.com" ore something like this? Maybe you'll be lucky. I like to post in german without bad feeling.
I have same problems with your english language as you with the german. But anyway, i don't have to see a problem with the mixed postings. This problem is selfmade with your personal attitude.

ENG: Sometimes it is very hard to explain a Problem in a Language what you have never learned perfectly - so we (Germans) use our natural Language. So I sometimes unable to understand a Post in english and then I can't give a answer. but here are a Lot of People and most of the Questions get an Answer - so most Users get help.
Most of us try our best to write in English, but sometimes it is inpossible for us. I see that the most people outside of german linguistic area have their Problems with this. But I think the most Users here are non Professionell's - like I.
So let's break this never ending Discussion - I think leave it how it is
Look in the Forum - ther are about 25000 Articles inside and this is a Lot - so this Forum lives and about 2000 Members can't be that wrong.
Hope that somone can understand my catastrophically English
