I agree. IMHO, the flexibility of PHPWCMS makes it remarkable - without it having to adopt the multi-user functionality of a portal, or meet esoteric demands. I would be very happy to read an announcement that every *existing* feature now works perfectly.

there have been 4 rc´s what else do you want?
Yeah, but it was almost 6 month ago the RC4 came and that is a long time for people to update their browsers(directed to the download section) if you know what I mean. If people didn't love it so much they would be able to stand the wait but now we are hocked.

So a RC5 wouldn't be so bad after all.

Thanks,

I totally agree to frold...! I prefer waiting a month or two more for the next release to come than being forced to install those patches every week... I prefer well thought and stable software. If you really need to have smth. new every month or so simply switch the cms... you are at the wrong place here.

hello

in my opinion this discussion is unnecessary. cos we should all be happy that somebody, in this case Oliver, made this greate cms. and it would not help to scream for a new beta or something else.

we all know that the development of phpwcms is not discontinued. and so the new version could only be better than the actual release is.

Is this list up to date?
If it is, i don't think we could put phpwcms 1.2 under our christmastree.
I am a little bit sceptic about this release date.
The last date is over 3 month ago.
In olivers last thread about 1.2 he sayed that he is very sure to release 1.2
before christmas. but was this euphoria justifiable?

i want to redesign my homepage and of cause i'm waiting for 1.2
still a few days. but if this announcement was wrong again... i'll not very happy.

Don't misunderstand me. I think this CMS is a great work for only one developer. But there are people who trust in the announcement of Oliver.
And another big adjustment of the releasedate would make him very very unbelievable.

A small sign of life would be appreciated.
Oliver, I hope you make it.

Best Regards
Executter

Executter

The greatest CMS, but not complete

Post by rsantifort »

Oliver,

I believe the CMS you have developed can be the greatest CMS for many people. Still it is not finished and I am still waiting for some nifty features before it IS the greatest CMS for me.

As with many freeware packages we may not scream for a new version, because you are working on it on your own and not making a lot of money with it.
You are asking funds though paypal, but if we do fund you, how are you going to speed up the development process. If I pay, can I rely on a release date then. I think no one is going to support you through paypal without a release calender wich you are going to meet.

Maybe the time has come to forget the freeware license and ask for a small fee by default. I would rather pay some money to have a reliable release date for your CMS, than wait for the next release without any assurance. I am looking every day on the site at the moment, but the next release is not there yet.

I hope you find the time to release two nifty features we all need, that is the frontend login and the news/blog feature before christmas. I have to develop 4 new sites that are scheduled to launch on 1st of januari with those features.
I manage a lot of websites, but still cannot use PHPWCMS on all of them because these features are missing. If you can promise me a release date for this, I WILL sponsor you through paypal.

I totally agree with rsantifort!

Okay ... there are about 4-500 Users, which are always post here in the forum. And i think - everybody is interested in getting the new version of PHPWCMS. Okay lets work together and lets start the "PAYPAL"-campaign for Oliver and getting the new version before christmas :-)

What do you think about this proposal? How many Euros/USD min. or max. per User? I think, everybody can spend 10, 20, 30 EUR or more for this perfect system! I don't know - lets discuss!
