Uploading pictures

Post by richk »

I am confused about uploading pictures. I have about 30 images I need to upload to use on my web site. I created a directory in the filecenter called mypictures. How do I use the ftp takeover function to upload these? When I try to use my ftp program by itself to upload them I can't find the directory called mypictures???

Is there a specific directory I should upload them to using my ftp program so that I can find them when writing articles? If so, can somebody tell me what the name of this directory should be, and where to place it? Do I need to make some kind of change to my phpwcms setup in order for ftptakeover to work? When I try to use ftptakeover I get this message ... there is still no file available – you have to upload one via ftp. OK, so where do I upload them to using ftp?

Help please

you have to upload to the phpwcms_ftp directory.
then you'll see them in 'ftp takeover' in the FILE section.

OK, but more problems!!!!
I uploaded the to the folder you suggested and the ftptakeover worked.

Now, when I try to use them, or just try to view them even just in the filecenter, all I see is a box with a red X in it! If I click this red x a seperate window opens and the picture show just fine, but that is the only time you can see it. When I try to insert a picture in an article all I see is the red box!

What have I done wrong? These are all gifs or jpegs.

That sounds like the image resizing didn't work. Double check that you have your configuration correct with either imagick or gd and that your server supports it.

Well when I try to insert an image into an article this is what I get

I don't have a clue what this means. Can someone help me?

My permissions are all set correctly.

Is it possible that my images are not being uploaded to or stored in the correct directory?

This is very frustrating!

I looked at the thread you suggested, and I see the similarity to my problem, but I still don't know how to fix it!

I did not upload anything with .jpgjpg???? I don't understand why it says this? And I still don't know what directory to upload my images to?

I assure you that the permissions for my content/images folder are set to 777. Is this where I am supposed to upload my images?

Thanks
