Upload Files, from file browser window

Post by Ibis Fernandez »

Is there any way to an an upload file button to the file browser window?

This is quite annoying. I try to add images, files, multimedia to my articles and when I select the file option the little file browser pop-up window appears which lets me choose the file(s) to add... However if I want to upload new files, I need to break the whole workflow to add the files through a different process.

Can't we just upload files from that little popup window? How can we fix this?

I think this should work for everyone.

It's a workflow nightmare to have to keep going back and forth to the file section when something like this could provably be easily implemented directly into the media/file browser.

PHP is not the best method for management of file uploads. There are file-size and execution-time constraints for most average users that discourage "multiple" file selection and uploading. Your example implies such a scheme. Running an FTP client or using virtual drive mapping software can easily be running concurrently, no?

What are you talking about? Am I the only one who is actually using phpWCMS?

phpwcms IS a php script and already DOES contains a file upload and management feature.

The only trouble is, the upload functions are only available in the separate file management option. My method is not impying anything other than implementing the functions that are all ready there, within the actual file managent window. SO THAT YOU DONT HAVE TO CLICK OVER TO ANYTHING ELSE in order to add a simple file to the thing.

I hope this is a bit clearer now.

I agree completely. The file upload procedure is unfriendly.

Hey pSouper, who are you referring to? Me? I'm sorry if I have upset you, but I meant nothing bad with my statement. I *really love* phpwcms and I think it's the best free cms available, but I also think thare are some things to be improved. One of them is the fact that there is a seperate file upload thingy. It's user unfriendly in my opinion and not necessary. Can't I say such a thing here? I am not mad, angry, bad or evil. I just have an opinion... Sheeesh :-)
