First timer help

Hello everybody, Ive uploded phpwcms to my server and get the front page when i visit the site but when i click on the index or admin link, i get an error!

I know i have to change the permissions of some files but realy have no idea how!!

An idiots guide to this would be much appriciated.

I am a windoze bunny who has just started trying to get to grips with linux but am still using xp.

Ive re-unziped it to my server, done all the file permissions and im still getting the same page??

I must be doing somthing realy stupid.. grrr...

The same space has a CMSimple cms system running on in.

It is a linux srever with php and mysql
