is there a way to put a comment tag under a article, where people can comment or give a reaction on a atricle ?
and if so , is there also a tag like {last_comment}

i was searching on this forum but could not find it

you can set up a guestbook content part for this.
if the default template may look more than you need for this task just trim it down to only those parts you need

what is strange about that ?!? Just customize the template for the guestbook and you're gonna be able to have a preinstalled comments script as you see on many more pages...

try it and you will see it is not so strange: being called 'geust book' does sound imply specific role for it but it really is a flexible 'comment blogger' with a multitude of uses.

wich version did you use!? the latest!?

i sit there an write the a tutorial for thsi contentpart in german right now. later thsi eveneing (I hope) i will have this also in english at the docu site.

hello

if you look into the default html file you will see also a short description of the default html. i done this yesterday i open it with an (wysiwyg) html editor. and then i edit it! maybe this info helps you too!

first sorry for open a new thread.

i only wanna inform you that i have finished the basic tutorial for the guestbook/comm. content part.

The template tutorial will follow also the editing of enries will come maybe tomorrow.

maybe i'm not getting this right but....

for every aticle i have to create a seperate guestbook/comment with a higher ID nummer ?
this is not a good solution because the owner of the site has no clue at all on how to change/do this.

is there a way this is going to be there in a future RC ?

hello

no you don't need this!

the alias id you only need if you wanna add the guestbook/comm. content part also on another place on your site! normally it can stay blank!

if you wann place the guestbook/comm. content part on several pages at you page. you create one time the guestbook/comm. content part and use this ARTICLE ID in as alias id in the other you create! so all can write in same guestbook/comm. content part. if you don't wanna do this create a new one! without alias id.

ok example:

your page structure looks like this:

Home
- ID: 1-German
  - ID: 3-Guestbook
- ID: 2- English
  - ID: 4- Guestbook

Now you don't need two guestbooks but you want the visitors of the english part of your site to post into the same guestbook as the german ones, but you want the guestbook to have an english template.

Now you are able to create a guestbook in the german section and you create one in the english section. The one in the english has the alias ID 3 and so every user will post into the same guestbook but for the english ones it will look like an eglish guestbook and for the german ones it will look like a german guestbook.

If you don't need this feature to acces one guestbook from different parts of your site you can just create a new guestbook and leave the alias Id field blank. The result will be that you get a separated guestbook whereever you add a content part guestbook... So if you don't use the alias ID in my example:
the English won't see the german posts and the other way round the German won't see the english posts... but if you use the ID each other will see the posts of the foreigners
