Admin Area: Artcile list change request

Post by trip »

Hi Oliver
do you think it would be possible to do the following.

When viewing articles, instead of having the article name as the "link" to the online view, make this a link to editing the article. Then on the right where all the icons appear, have a small magnifying glass which links to the online view. Or alternatively add the view option on the right of the article. Whatever works really.

This would make it easier to find articles to edit, if the list is long.

regards

Hi Trip,

Is not Oliver writing, but I understand your request. I found some time ago, an CMS (/ZMS) zope based with this feuture. When admin was logged in website and go explore fronthend, there was a small red pixel near headlines linking that article or page with a direct link to backend enabeling edit articles very fast.

zms-publishing is a very powerfull zope cms, and Typo 3 is very powerfull too(PHP), but for me I will never, ever, leave this friendly and clean cms, PHPWCMS off course!!! Maybe in feuture plans Oliver include your request, lets wait for version 2.

Cumps.

it just seams a strange request to me: designing an applicaiton with the end user in mind is very important: re-desiging an application so the end user doesn't have to learn the diff between two links is not so important

psouper
you have it right....
its not much of a change, only an extra icon per article for view in the admin section, and instead if the link going to the article this then goes to the edit option...

Hope this is clear.,...
