form mailer: hide recipient email address?
Hi all,
I love the easy way to create a form mailer - but the main reason I want to use it is to hide the recipient's email address from spammers.
Unfortunately, the email address is visible in the source code.
Any workaround...?

Thanks Pappnase! I've been searching for "mail" and "hide", everything except "spam". The "disguise solution" with 2 changed lines of code worked fine for me.Pappnase wrote:hello dom
there a a several thread about this in the forum! but i can't remember that there was an solution. please search for spam and email. i think you should find something.
Mailform basic spam protection...

With all due respect, but this attitude is just wrong, huh?Oliver Georgi wrote:use an anti-spam tool.
spammers will always have your email address.
Absolutely...Oliver Georgi wrote: Or - do you don't get a lot of spam from most of your friends.
But that's "friendly spam" with an easy option to quit it with a single mail

Oliver Georgi wrote:I think you have not understood what I want to say
The problem: spammers will always be faster than yourself. This is a huge problem.

Ich weiß doch, was Du willst.

Sorry for update this old thread but I think I should say something here...Dom wrote:With all due respect, but this attitude is just wrong, huh?
I don't read german so I don't know what path followed this discussion.
First at all... I've try many (and I mean MANY) CMS so far... and phpWCMS is, IMHO, by far the best... to my needs and likes.
But I've noted in several threads that the answers mortal users (like myself) got from the creator of phpWCMS is not the best...
Just to make a point clear: I am not telling this as a destructive criticism.. All the opposite... Just trying to make Oliver to see the atmosphere he's creating.
Ok... What I mean with "not the best". I don't mean a clear answer, an algoritm to solve MY problem.. Not... It's MY problem after all and he owes me nothing.. All the opposite: I'm in debt with him.
I mean that he use to put other's ideas aside just because he think it does not deserve any attention...
Perhaps I am getting used to the atmosphere we breath in the Moodle community, where I used to participate a lot as developer: That community is guided by the principles of the Social Constructivism theory, where every idea deserves respect.
I don't pretend to have a "social constructivist" atmosphere everywhere I go but a little respect would be great.
For instance... I think that having a replacement tag for a basic Search form would be great.. I bet most of you think the same... Well... Oliver said that it does not makes sense (or something like that) because most people would like to have a picture as the submit button... That was enough to disregard the idea.
OK, Right... You are right... Even me wants a picture for the submit button... But we are intelligent beings! I think that if everybody helps, we could find a solution/workaround for this (maybe a parameter in the RT, for example: Nil = standard button, otherwise, the image is specified in the parameter)
I don't want to extend this post more than what is needed... All I want to try is to make this community a bit better... When someone see that s/he is respected by others, s/he's more willing to help and to talk and to participate..
I hope you don't misunderstood my words.
In the other hand...
I greatly appreciate Pappnase's helping hands...
I thanks Oliver a lot for making this software publicly available...
All the best to all of you,
Will

Our discussion was settled in our usual gentlemen's manner
We switched to German because Oliver's confusing English was the main cause of our misunderstanding.
Everything is in order now.
