Numbering of Updates and Releases

Post by forefront »

PLEASE ...

Number every release (i.e. 1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.1.3) instead of dating them. The dates are nice, but can lead to confusion, especially if the dates are not far apart.

those numbers look close together to me ;)
if you look at the number as an abstract and not a date it is no different ;)

I agree with you. The problem is same version with different dates and then someone just refers only to the version without the date. An expanded version numbering system NOT dependent on the date for clarification is far superior, in my opinion.
