A couple requests

A couple feature requests I think would improve on what is already the best CMS available (imho).

1st - Make the navigation structures that are produced by {NAV_TABLE_COLUMN} collapsable as well as they are already expandable. For instance, you click on a category to open up a list of the subcategories already-- it would be nice to be able to click on that category again to collapse that list to its original state.

2nd - Perhaps instead of developing new features, we could develop some documentation for the one's we've got. Even as one who knows HTML and CSS, learning to use the various features of PHPWCMS is not intuitive. Tasks like developing templates, changing hard-coded values, and using the various content parts required much trial-and-error, and much searching through tons of forum posts before I found out how to do something, or simply gave up. I would even offer to write some tutorials myself, except that I only have a partial understanding of the various functions thusfar.

2nd: there a many posts about this problem and to give you a short review I think the plan is:

1. Oliver use his spare time to develope on phpwcms
and
2. the users, us, we make the documents. I know that Oliver would gladly make some better docs, but it is a very time killing project. The first thing Oliver want is a stabel release of phpwcms.. Maybe after that he him self will make some documents....

But I think we - the users could start.
Im very busy reading for my exam, so I only spent time answers posts, but you are welcome to start writing some docs and post them in the forum...

And the Replacement Tags from pappnase

Sorry, but all is in german at the moment. But i think a good base for translation

Yes, unfortunately I speak only English. I can see where getting together a stable release is more important than documentation at this stage. Glad to know there is documentation out there (even if its in German), and look forward to checking out the translation, when its ready. Thanks!

i think that you can use the code that generates the backend "site structure and article list" for that. with little modifigation it should do what you need. HTH

Ah, yes, though only if I could code PHP.

I went to the download for the German-language tutorial at Sourceforge. Its says its a 25 minute Flash presentation.

If someone would like to provide me with a transcript of this, I would be happy to try to translate it into English. I only speak English, not German-- but I could use translation software and use my knowledge of English to correct the translation.

I've used an online translator to convert all of the text in the pdf to English. However, I have been having difficulties correcting the grammatical and translation errors, which is compounded by my lack of familiarity with many of the features of WCMS. I'm afraid it may be some time before I have a readable English translation of the documentation.

On second thought, it may not be as difficult as I first anticipated-- I am starting to make some headway. When I'm finished, though, I would like if someone more familiar with WCMS than I am help to proofread it.
