Site fails if there is content

Post by Surfaren »

Hello boys 'n girls

I have a strange (I think) problem with my fresh phpwcms intallation. The site itself works just fine, but if there is content to display it fails to load. Infinite loading-loop. Funny.... Not.

This site has a swedish and an english section. The swedish does not work at all, since it has content*. The english one works fine, without content*.

Anybody have a solution? I would be so happy.....

Is there a reason for me to use that patch?

Hmm... The patch seems to be something that couldn't possibly help my problem... :(

(Haven't tried yet though, since WS_FTP is working its ass off with image uploads.)

EDIT:

Update: As soon as there is more than one "child category", articles or not, the site fails to load.

EDIT 2:

Yep, just as I thought. Patch didn't solve the problem.

seems that you have set redirect to same and same page again. Check that first.

*Checked*

Didn't help... :(

I guess I'll have to do everything from zero again...

Fresh install again. Latest build: 20040622

As soon as I add more than one child category, everything hangs up.

Try the swedish version by clicking the flag. :(
Inside is two categories... The english works because it only contains one. :?

Lookes like there is some problems with the menu. When I hide the two top categories (for language) the page loads just fine.
Sometimes the page loads with a half menu, and then keeps loading for ever.

I think there is something wrong with your PHP install.

Hmm...
Personally I always run PHP as Apache module, but on this actual server it's installed as CGI. I checked the phpinfo() a few minutes ago...
I'll try the module instead. Stay tuned.

Use Apache 2 and current PHP on XP. Works very well. Maybe update MySQL to 4 too. I can not recommend CGI on Windows because it's very limited install.
