How to get ../index.php with normal design?

Post by andis »

Hello!
When I open http://127.0.0.1/phpwcms/index.php, the design is unpalatible - seems like to be unformatted (visible only some text in the middle of page, even no sections in the right). How to make the wiew of the index page something like http://www.phpwcms.de?
I have a partly empty the default template - only 'name', 'layout', 'css' fields are filled. Maybe that is the case?
If Yes, then Please could somebody be so forthcomming and send me or tell where to get the data, to be written there!!! (deam@navigator.lv)

In the next 2 days I have to present some CMSs for my chief and I would like to include also this one - I like the approach of functionality. :D

yes andis

sounds like you need to make a little better layout & templates

look here!

introduction for layout
http://www.phpwcms.de/index.php?id=14,0,0,1,0,0

introduction for templates
http://www.phpwcms.de/index.php?templates

workaround for index default template

Post by RHeX »

I've seen a workaround to this question on a wcms-support site, but can't find it anymore.

Anyone got a clue what i mean? Seems like a pretty basic issue.

Cheers,

Hmm, I'm kinda new to forums. Wasn't responding to above question though. Wanted to assign a template to the index-structure-level different than default (i.e. there is no "edit" for index-structure-level).

But heard there's a fix in new release. Thanks anyways :)

The default template is the one used for index too. So make set any template as default and it will work.

Yeah, that's the point. I rather not use the default for the homepage since i'm creating a large news site. It just don't feel right to set the default to a template i only use once (i.e. the homepage) instead of for all the other sub-levels. It's a detail, i know.

Anyways, thanks a lot Oliver and all the unofficial WCMS support group members! This is truly a very intuitive piece of software.
