Our shiny new Pluspurple website

Post by yorkshire_boy1 »

Hi all, having been happy users of Phpwcms for many years, we decided to use its excellent features in our own website.

You can see it here: http://www.pluspurple.com

We decided to use the news feature heavily, infact to supply almost all our site content! This has the benefits of being able to "Tag" all our work, allowing users to click on the tags to see more similar work, or work done for the same client. We can also direct the same content into "recent work" section, or "selected work" so it appears on our home page, or with the "news" tag, it automatically appears in our news items! Using news templates, the content is displayed differently, depending on the context.

We did a bit of tweaking to the excellent NLU_FF_AC_QD replacement tag (worked on by flip-flop and extended by Jensensen. Thanks to both!) so that the navigation menu counts the number of news articles which are tagged with a tag the same name as the category in question. See my comment here about what we did: http://forum.phpwcms.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=17891

So here (http://www.pluspurple.com/index.php?our-work ) you can see in the menu on the left, a list of project categories, and the number of projects in each category.

Hope you like!

Tom
