problems how to convert a html-site to wcms
hi,
i want to put my own site into wcms, but i have spent a fair amount of time on it, and i cannot figure out how to bring it in to wcms...
maybe one of the wcms-pro's got an idea?
look at my site: http://www.dsl-inet.com
the most special about these pages: they adapt in width and height to browser. And the background is different on any page, i don't know how to bring that into wcms.
would apreciate any thoughts
Cheers

the different background can be managed through different templates...
and for the width you can just use a custom design.. so you'll have to create your design through static html in your templates.... that shouldn't be a problem...
=> go to page layout => choose: custom
=> go to templates => create your templates with you different background, or use the random image tag, if the image is not fixed for any category
=> go to categories => create your categories and choose the correct template for each category...
you should be done...
now you've got a static layout but you can edit you content with wcms...

your background images can be controlled using... one of these hacks

i tried it, and it almost works, except that the content-pages will not show up
i copied my hole static-html-code in main part of template, is that correct? i almost can't believe it

did you use the {CONTENT} Replacement Tag in you static html ??
Ahh and of course you have to enter some content by writing articles for each category ...
otherwise it's hard to say what you're doing wrong! could you maybe setup an admin account for me at your script and I will have a look at it...
