What has happened to the attachment feature?
What has happened to the attachment feature?
The attachment feature of this forum: Can anybody confirm that it isn't possible to attach little pics/files and so on to a topic/answer/issue. This seems to have been working until....???
It's mostly all about maintaining two or three customer's sites Still supporter for the band Mykket Morton. Visit Mykket Morton on FB. Listen Mykket Morton and live videos on youtube.
Now building a venue for young artists to get wet on stage, rehearsal rooms, a studio, a guitar shop - yes I'm going to build some guitars.

Re: What has happened to the attachment feature?
I see it clearly now: some parts of this forum (e.g. the hacks forum) has attachments switched to "on" while others like "general discussion" have not... right?

Re: What has happened to the attachment feature?
only in the 'hacks section' attachments have been always allowed. i think only moderators can do that anywhere.

This post is quite old, but is the attachment feature disabled since the last forum update?update wrote: Sat 14. My last uploaded attachment is from april 2021, but now I don't see this option any more when I open a topic or reply to posts?
In general it seams to be possible:

Re: What has happened to the attachment feature?
It works as always. And also your attachment from April is there.
Re: What has happened to the attachment feature?
Yes the old attachment is still there:

The screenshots at this post are just added via the insert image option where the images are hosted external and gone if I delete my dev system.
but I don't have the option to add attachments at blog posts:
There should be a second tab "Upload attachment" next to "Options" as described in the phpBB User Guide:https://www.phpbb.com/support/docs/en/3 ... g_options/

Code: Select all

Re: What has happened to the attachment feature?
Cannot say where this is for you. All permissions given. Maybe with next update…
Re: What has happened to the attachment feature?
I checked with Opera and Chrome browser. Same like with Firefox.
Will see, maybe next update changes something.
Thanks.

Re: What has happened to the attachment feature?
For testing I created a new forum user, but this user also has no attachment permissions given.

So I searched at the phpBB Support Forum and found this topic.dani2222 wrote:

Maybe some default settings are changed or gone during the last updates.Instead of looking at the permission settings you would be better off looking at the permission masks for those members having problems.

Oliver, maybe the "permission masks" setting gives some help? You should not remove anyone from the Registered Users Group - that group should contain all members. Other groups add/subtract permissions from that group.
