Once I talked with oliver about it and he don´t see a need of the mod - only if the links was

/index.php?article_name
(so you could se what articles that where visited)

instead of:

/index.php?id=0,1,0,0,1,0

And he said many have free webstat offered by the webprovider...

I understand his arguments, but I still need it for differents reasons...

You have my vote, Frold. I hope Oliver will reconsider this mod in core. Those free webstat from the webhost providers as I have seen so far is CGI based. To view it you have to log into your host account with kind of time consuming. Second, in the case you don't use password protected the webstat link, everybody with a little efford can freely view it and "know everything" about your website activities. Not mention about those spamers or hackers always waiting out there...

There are also many free php webstat scripts but mostly they require user to copy the code to EVERY SINGLE PAGE if they want to track the whole site.

Now with Frold's mod, with one click, how convenience, how private, with a very good , detail tracking system...

Please OLIVER, please add this to core!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It won't take you more than 5 min :)

My hosts webstats are realy poor and only updated on a daily basis :(
there is no stats on browsers, systems, pages visited, or bot probes etc.
just how much data has been sent out from my site & how many pages sent and how many visits i have had.
this stat mod has a realy good list of functions that help.

Works great with R.3!!! Nice mod!!! Cudos to you Frold!

I can understand Oliver if he do not want to put some great mods in the core phpwcms. Better to have a clean simple core phpwcms than a more complexed CMS as a startingpoint. Specially when the mods are so simple to install(thanks to great commenting ofcourse :D ).

As more people finds the benifit of phpwcms and it's pureness we will probably see more and more great mods, then it is good to have them lose from the core...To keep an overview of what you want from the CMS for that certain site you are creating. And for the people that lets their clients manage the sites it is a great benifit to keep it simple(they have a tendency to mess up if it gets to massive :x ).

But ofcourse it would be easy to release a unofficial superduper-phpwcms with all the mods in it...

Anyway - the mod works great with my testssites and dear Googlebot have started the great 'Googledance' so now I tested the keywords to!

Just my 5(or what ever the rate is nowadays here) cents...

Hi guys,

I think, that this mod is really important ! As many of us here use a shared webhosting service (I suppose), we dont have total control about what is beeing logged from the webserver. In my stats I also see each visit of an author in the backend and I certainly only want to see frontend visits. So it would be great, If this MOD would be a part of the standard phpwcms installation.

Hi there,

has anybody managed to get this mod to work with page compression ?
If I set page compression I get the following error :

Warning: ob_start(): output handler 'ob_gzhandler' cannot be used after 'URL-Rewriter' in /xxxxxx/xxxxxx.de/webseiten/htdocs/index.php on line 55

Switching off the compression makes everything work...

I tihnk I get this error with any compression setting :(
it dissapears after a 'same session refresh' but is anoying none the less.

PS. page compression: in config.inc.php there are options 0 & 1 but defaults to 3... why? is it that 0 = off and >=1 is the compression amount?
