Post custom hacks and enhancements for phpwcms here only. Maybe some of these things will be included in official release later.

Checked the code myself, but since I'm no programmer at all, all I can detect from my point of view: macmukka just used the code from the latest snapshor (29-10-2007). If this is an old one, mmmh, what happened to the new one. Or do you mean the additional code which is old style? This is something which I really cannot judge...

PS: and sorry for having gotten so upset, but out of a sudden my fingers freed themselves from any boundary and just used my keyboard. But the meaning remains

I may easily be 'old-style' - it's true ;-)

Being taught BASIC at 6 by my father wasn't much of a grounding for what I need today!

So my coding probably isnt very good...any guidance gratefully received OG!

paragraphs support is in it since very long time.
nice to know
Between both of these approaches

i think ....
some serious
experimental typographic design
is possible inside phpWcms

- more flexible than SFIR
- again thanks to all.... :)

Have to say "big sorry" to macmukka - it's my fault. I have made GT mod changes on Nov 3rd - and is not available as newer snapshot yet.

These are mostly fixes and better var checking ... but no new feature.

Hi,
I've read that discussion here, and ask myself, is the sIFR technique no alternative for special typefaces on websites?
(textreplacement via JS/Flash)

I know - both techniques have pros and cons - Normaly I use sifr for headlines and quotes in articles. Because I don't want that customers mess around with Replacementtags - and for menu or static template entries, I use GT Mod if needed.

Ok, don't want to start a discussion about sifr - it was just a hint :-)

sIFR is the recommend method but often too difficult for "normal" user.

OG no apology needed - a simple mistake, I would be interested in seeing the new code though!

Will let you all know when I add some more 'unofficial' features...transparency is very odd issue though...it'll get fixed.

 to all

In such cases there seems to be an easier method:
http://www.stewartspeak.com/projects/dtr/ (posted it already a couple of months ago). For me this seems really easy to use (JS/PHP technique), tried it and it works!

PS:
...it's my fault...
Oliver, clearing this is really proving you as a great man :!:
And once again sorry for flipping out in such an unhonorable manner...

Hi Macmukka

By now you probably realize that OliG has now featured GT text rotation in the more recent builds
- I tried incorporating your code inside his newest
- but was unsuccessful
- any chance you could 'tweak' your code to accommodate the new text rotation feature as implemented,
- which is a nice new versatile feature !!! :)

- cheers -
john
:)

ps - in the meantime I am using your version
- the ability to have multiline GT (paragraphs) is really a good one

- and at least for me
- Oliver - if you read this
- hoping you could make multiline GT part of phpWcms core.....
- it really is very nice design feature - especially for longer titles ie 2+ lines
- very flexible
(imho)

update: problem solved - had to set line padding correctly. works perfect now!

hi there,
I just installed the mod enhancement but have some trouble with it now: the styles preview doesnt show any preview lines anymore, just an empty space. same at the frontend - I can define a style in the backend using png24, but there is no result shown. any idea what is wrong?
thanks in advance!
