Brand New FCKEditor: better and lighter

Post by cyppher.nl »

Relevant news for phpwcms content creation:
FCKeditor, one of the most popular free WYSIWYG editors around now has a new version with more features & a lighter name: CKEditor.

WYSIWYG editors generally load slow due to the highly-used JavaScript. One of the best things CKEditor offers is the seriously improved perfomance to eliminate this problem.

Also, it is now an accessible script in compliance with the W3C WCAG & the US Section 508.

What do you think?

Should this be implemented in phpwcms? I think so...
Great improvements on code standards support, performance and interface.

Let me know what you think.

Cheers,
cyppher / mathijs.

Brand New CKEditor

Post by Jensensen »

Dag allemaal!
Hoi mathijs,

just wanted to let you know that we got the brand new fckeditor, called 'ckeditor' since release r375:
http://code.google.com/p/phpwcms/source/detail?r=375

thank you.

For Mac users:
take notice of the --> hidden .htaccess in
/include/inc_ext/ckeditor/

to be able to open/read/edit better rename it to something like
_.htaccess

don't worry. when dragging folders to the ftp-window even hidden files are copied!

For all users of r375:
check conf vs. dist.conf.
