Exciting Developments
Just had to post this - just read OliG's recent announcement

I am sure plenty are excited about new directions for shopping cart. :D

For me, the new JW Media Player contentpart
looks really great. Tons of possibilities.
It ships with Flash source - under Creative Commons License.
The JW Media Player (built with Adobe's Flash) supports playback of a single media file of any format the Adobe Flash Player can handle (MP3, FLV, SWF, JPG, PNG and GIF). It also supports RSS, XSPF and ATOM playlist (with mixed mediatypes and advertisement possibilities), a wide range of flashvars (settings) for tweaking both behavior and appearance and an extensive, documented javascript/actionscript API.
WOW
Thanks Oli
:)

Yes, I think so, too!
What I'm wondering is, if Oli's working together with breitsch, taking advantage of his efforts in implementing a shopping cart and also of all the great exData stuff...?!

Looking forward to the new release,
Felix

Yes really great news. Both the media player and a shop module are very welcome.

And all OG work and commitment, just SUPER.

Really looking forward to the comming days, weeks.

Hi all,

but remember: All of these scripts at http://www.jeroenwijering.com are only free for private use:
At this page you can automatically apply for commercial licenses of my players (JW FLV Player, JW MP3 Player, JW Media Player and JW Image Rotator ). You can either pay by PayPal (creditcard) or by manual bank transfer. The process is short, simple and clarified where necessary.
The question is now: Why did OG include a script that is only free for private use? Doesn't make any sense to me... :-(

Hi Oeconom,

I agree....OliG probably spotted 15Euros or negotiated it for phpWcms open source dist.

re: previous post...

breitsch has done a really great job
(having said that the EXDATA is in need of a full documentation - hehe - for mere mortals like me)
- how 'it might' get included in phpWcms core is another question.

The real issue (it seems to me) is to have site search results to include EX_DATA stuff
... this topic has been discussed
...and breitsch has done for earlier versions
....guessing we will have to wait for OliG to get the current issues completed
- shopping cart (Y)
- AND full (OliG smart) user management in place (Y)

all the best from 'cold' new zealand
(we had snow today - send some heat)

Hi jsw_nz,
I totally agree with you!
I'really like to send you some heat, but 'summer' in good old germany actually is more like autumn...

Best wishes,
Felix

regarding licensing - I have discussed this with Jeroen - JW Player developer.

So you can use it for free in all non-commercial usage. All others can pay those 15 EUR. There is a warning in CP's backend.

I haven't found any other player which is that good. And it will costs much more to develope own with all features.

But maybe later I will license it for unrestricted usage.

Hi Oeconom and Oliver,

Not to change the topic, but I just came across this library this last week
- (has been out for a while (jQuery 1.1.3). What is really great is the interface elements library built on top of it....

Oliver - guessing you have already seen and researched this...
...seems to be the best library i have seen....

Interface demos page for jQuery library:
http://interface.eyecon.ro/demos
check out Real World Demos:
Folder tree (uses Draggables and Droppables)

jQuery homepage:
http://jquery.com/

Visual jQuery page - Quick Start:
http://www.visualjquery.com/1.1.2.html

jQuery compressed is only 20KB

Seems like a very flexible framework
Anyway just mentioning
all the best

:)

Hi Claus

- The cart feature is nice
- but would be nice to see the actual element 'removed' from the listing once placed in the cart
- for jQuery this is possible
- a really nice feature is the ability to 'append', 'prepend, and 'remove' elements from the DOM
- also on these events animation is possible
- really amazing Web2.0 stuff.

Cheers
:D
