www.essential-therapies.co.uk

Post by 360fusion »

Hi,

I have just put this site live, It is for a complementary therapist who does massage work and specialises in rehabilitation work for injuries, she works very closely with insurance companies and doctors and supplies then with massage treatments she also sources physiotherapists a chiropractors.

http://www.essential-therapies.co.uk

I used phpwcms 1.3.5 and used the teaser link to create the product listings, the products are purchased through PayPal buttons and the PayPal shopping cart. I used this as it is easier for the client to track orders and change prices through PayPal and as there are only a hand full of products there wasn't that much need for a more advanced cart.

I tried to make it accessible as possible and even added a skip to content link hidden at the top of the page for screen readers.

Any comment appreciated.
Thanks
Ben

ok - very nice.

but:
- use photoshop to isolate a motive, by removing the background (pic at the "home" page)
- under contacts - the submit button is in german ?
- on all sites is a programm error- delete the "</ul>" and correct the"<a...>"...
- and klick on the home.gif - there is no link defined,,,
(http://www.essential-therapies.co.uk/.phtml)

- and if you use jigsaw to validate your css, why dont you delete the mistakes ?
(described in Accessibility - http://www.essential-therapies.co.uk/ac ... ment.phtml)

Hi Markus,

Thanks for the feedback.

Well... What a lot of school boy errors, and to think i tested it and tested it and then released it with these errors.

I have fixed the validation issues on all pages except the shop, these are caused by the PayPal buttons, as the pages pass vailidation when i remove them, but i'd have thought PayPal would supply valid code for then, i'll have to look into this one abit more.

I always do that with the home link and forget it changes once i use url rewrite. - fixed now though

The submit button says Send: Submit Query on my browser. could this be a browser language thing?

You may have to explain the first bit a bit more as i'm not quite sure what you mean.

Thanks
Ben

Works well in Lynx, :) although personally I would place the social bookmarking links etc at the top of the page (in the HTML code, not visually) so they can be skipped with the 'skip to content' link. Otherwise a screen reader will encounter them on every page.
