Download files without login?
Download files without login?
Hey all
I have uploaded some files using the "file center".
Is it possible to download/view the files without having a login?
I have already checked the status option "public", but that doesnt seem to make them public in the way I want
Regards,
Søren

Folders have to be public and active too.

They are also set as public and active.Oliver Georgi wrote:Folders have to be public and active too.
Even though I cannot download the file "afstandsforhold_sol_maane.pdf". Phpwcms prompts for a login when I try to download it.
Do I have to use a specific link to download the files?

Re: Download files without login?
Where do you want to download? In the frontend? Maybe you have a CP files there which requires to be logged in.
And this has to be off.
And this has to be off.

I would like to do it through a link, which I can make available to the people of interest.Oliver Georgi wrote:Where do you want to download?

Re: Download files without login?
seems you have a old version running.
Files in the frontend are used by CP files. You cannot link directly to these in the backend.

.... And in newer versions, you can use the "[download=.....]" TAG.
-> Docu basic version e.g. [download=ID, ID ,ID]file-1 file-2 file-3[/download]
-> wiki enhanced version e.g. [xdownload= t: a string tag, tag05, tag06 : template, greedy, max_count, sort_by /]

Re: Download files without login?
So to summarize people without a login cannot download the file unless I use the [download]-tag, which is available only in version v1.39 r187 and onwards?
What I have done so far is to create some page content using the phpwcms-backend.
On the page I would like to add a link. From here all visitors should be able to download the file I have uploaded.
This is impossible without using the [download]-tag?

Re: Download files without login?
Use the content part file list for that! Is it so hard?

Hehe.. You got a point! I didn't know that existed.Oliver Georgi wrote:Use the content part file list for that! Is it so hard?
I would though like to arrange the files within a table. There is alot of files and I would like to group them - that I have done in a table.
Is that possible using the file list?

Re: Download files without login?
you can use several CPs to group files. And use a custom template.
Re: Download files without login?
-> wiki: CP File listUsing the content part "File list" you can offer files from the file center for download.
Since version V1.4.2 r354 it is possible to generate a picture preview with the help of the LightBox. In addition still an output for picture parameter was added.
