When using the newest version 1.4.0 (dev r_275) you'll get the legendary "update message" on the screen of the back end:

The latest official version is phpwcms 1.3.9 (2008/06/18). You are running phpwcms 1.4.0 (2008/12/04).

This is no error, but, as always, it will take ONLY A FEW HOURS until the "check release function/update sever" noticed, that meanwhile, a new version was born
