Could you give me more details on this method:
you can install phpwcms only at the main domain and you can upload in each subdomain only the phpwcms folder and set in conf.inc.php the database setup to the main domain.
This might work for me.

Login to the admin
click Admin
Then under site structure you see your list of "categories" the icon with the X in it if you mouse over it say "cut structure level"

Same thing under the article menu.

What is this for and what does it do?

using sub-domains

My current site (pre-phpwcms) uses sub-domains for each major section of the site. Currently there are like 9-10 subdomains. And these are index fairly well in search engines. My concern is that I can't use phpwcms with subdomains, is that true? Does that mean I will have to set those subdomains up ...

ok, thanks for this post it helped me figure our why my paths came out wrong.

Now, is it possible to change them extension from .shtml to .htm or .html?? If so how? I tried changing this in the htaccess file, but the script is still looking for shtml extension.
