why the search engine does not search over the keywords only?

if i search for a single character like "a", the search engine find all articles that contains "a"...arggggg!!!

someone has solved this problem?

i need some help about {NAV_TABLE_COLUMN}...

i 've got 5 links on the first level of menu...i need that onclick over one of these, it take a color different from the others...every one link of the first level had to take a color and the sub levels, the same of the "father"...ok?
