Small Problem in 1.2.1 :: Need to login twice

The installation is working rather well, and although I am inexperienced I am enjoying working in phpwcms a lot. My small problem is that from any computer I log in from, Mac or PC, using IE, Firefox, Safari, or Mozilla, I have to log in twice before getting into the backend. Why? I login, then it ...

To be clear, the version I am dealing with has been 1.2.1 this whole time. It may be a rights problem, I will check them once I am done with classes today :)
Session problem; I do not know what that means, but the problem duplicates on each computer i've tried.

You all have been awesome. I'm sorry that either none of these suggestions are working, or I am implementing them improperly. Oliver, I will try my best to illustrate my problem as concisely as possible. The Error To get the error, I either try to get past the summary part of an article (The WYSIWYG ...

What should I do?

I did have a successfully working install of 1.1.9-DEV on the same host with the same settings, and all of the WYSIWYG editors seemed to function; additionally, the editor for the Summary page works very well. 'General Path Problem' - How do I go about resolving this? I've hunted these forums awhile ...
