Thanks for the suggestion. I have taken a look a a number of 'mini cart' systems and qucik cart would be the easiest to deconstruct so that it would meet my needs.

However, I was hoping that I had missed an actual catalog app - perhaps on one of the non-english sites (my German sucks even worse ...

A recent request from a client has prompted this additional posting. His company needs a catalog but not a shopping cart. that is, the company builds and markets big ticket heavy machinery. They want a catalog displaying their products and accessories but do not want prices. And at the cost of the ...

Request for help with Newsletter

I am aware that wcms provides for a newsletter content part. Unfortunately there is no english documentation on the part and the babelfish translation of the german version is nonsense.

I have a client who wants a newsletter capability on his site and I have been trying to figure out the wcms ...

Yes you can use the sql file if you have shell access. However, sometimes shell access is not available from the ISP for security reasons. So, I now just convert the sql file to php and bypass the shell access issue.

Hi

I recently moved a site from my dev server to a production server. Here are the steps I followed:

1) the hardest part was the mysql dump. You can get phpMyAdmin to provide a compressed archive quite easily. But, the problem for me was the condition of the dump. Various entries in the database ...

My two cents worth.

One of the commentators observed that "This is a german forum, to talk about a german CMS ..". I have to disagree. The author is German and the site is physically located in Germany. But once a site goes on the web it becomes global. In terms of language, the common denominator ...

Hi Richk

During the day you raised two questions. You really like jumping imto the deep end of the pool right off the bat. Well, your not alone. I just got there before you. So here's some thoughts on your questions.

1) how do you check the development of a page before proceeding to the next ...

Hi

It is quite understandable that you are really confused. Your first problem is that you have been using FrontPage. The second problem is that the foundations of a phpwcms site are as different from that used by FrontPage as jet aircraft are from an ox cart. The third problem is the support ...

E-commerce and other apps

Hello

I thought I would add my experience to this discussion.

I have worked osCommerce for about fourteen months and now have four e-comm sites installed. Out of the box, it is quite good but the real power lies in the more than 2,000 contributions the user community has made to it.

The version I ...
