After investigating the CPanel of the host we're using, I ran across the ability to turn on the PHP display errors. When logging into the CMS, this is what was returned Warning: session_start(): open(path, O_RDWR) failed: Permission denied (13) in /vservers/illinbk3dcd3d/htdocs/login.php on line 24 ...

It turns out I can't manipulate the php.ini file. However, I did discover that:
This needs to be set to "on" for the login to work correctly, right?
Code: Select all
register_globals = Off

I don't know if this is useful, but thought I'd throw up here as more info for debugging. The site worked fine on both originally.

Thanks DeXXus, Here's the full story to give you idea of what I've done (wrong). About 2 weeks ago we lost our current version of our organization's website that was being run from an in-house server. Since then, we moved our site to an external host and I began working on developing the site over. ...

Thanks for all the help, much appreciated. The host provider turned on session.use_trans_sid, however, I still cannot login. I would like to try ff123's recommendation, but can't translate the Dutch portion of his post. Also, I may need more guidance, as I'm more of a graphic designer than a program...

Thanks for the tip, flip-flop. When checking out the DB, all user fields were 0, so I don't think that's the issue. I ran across this link, http://www.phpwcms-docu.de/error_messages.phtml and going to give this a shot. I'm contacting my host, to see if they can set session.use_trans_sid = 1 Currentl...

URGENT - CMS Login Issue
Hello, We recently lost our website DB about 2 weeks ago. I've spent the last couple of days rebuilding the site ( http://www.illinoislegalaidonline.org/index.php ). Everything was going fine until today when I tried to log in to the CMS. When logging in, I enter the correct username and password an...

Ben, thanks for the compliments and letting me know about the layout glitches. This redesign was a bit rushed, so there were bound to be a couple of errors. I admit I only checked the site out in Mozilla. It should now appear the same across the board (PC - IE, Mozilla, Netscape; MAC - Safari, IE(?)...
